Hawkers fall prey to brazen break-ins.

1a) Why is it easy for burglers to break into stalls at the two markets in the Kallang area?

Ans:They just need to climb on the pipes or the metal bars on top as the units are expose and the metal bars on top make it easier for burglars to get in


1b) What is the Geylang East Central Merchants' Association going to do about the break-ins?

Ans:They look into improving and developing the security standard by changing the stalls' layout and design.


2. What do you think should be done to tighten the security of the markets? What do you think of the burglars who brazenly break into the stalls?

Ans:Installing cctvs and getting rid of the metal bars and pipes so that the burglars will not be able to climb in so easily.

Straits Times Reflection t3 wk 3

1a) Why is cheerleading an expensive sport?

Ans:Gymnastic clases are very expensive, it is $50 per session. the pom-pom is imported from taiwan and the costumes is about $100 to $400. they also need to have nutritional supplements and vitamins, they caused about $50 to $130

1(b) What makes cheerleading such a tough sport?

Ans:they need to practice for hours many times a week and they also need to learn to perform stunts. it requirs teamwork and agility. they need to learn young so that they will be flexible



2.What is your opinion of cheerleaders? If given a chance, would you join cheerleading? Why/ why not?

Ans: i think that the cheerleaders are sporty persons and they won't give up easily they perservere to the end. if given a chance i will not join a cheerleading team as i don't like to dance. i also don't have the passion to become a cheerleader.

Question 1

What are some of the problems involved in separating a conjoined twin?

Answer1

One twin will need to sacrifice to save the other twin. The surviving twin would often be left with brain damage or major problem of excessive blood loss and fatal problems with the spinal cord after the separation.

Question 2

If you were a part of a conjoined twin, would you rather stay together with your twin for the rest of your life or would you risk both your lives to go for an operation? Why?

Answer 2
I would stay together with my twin for the rest of my life. so that i don't have to suffer the rest of my life and the loss of my siblings.

What are big companies doing in order to be more socially responsible?

Answer1)

They made more activities like an agro-tourism farm for the unfortunate and they promotes good corporate citizenship.

How important it is to be socially responsible? And do you think it is still possible to make a social impact during the recession?

Answer2)

Yes it is a pleasure to be a volunteer to help people whenever I am free.

What are some of the things that schools in Singapore are doing in order to take care of the environment?

Answer1

They ask students to bring along their electricity bills and they will teach them how to save electricity and save the environment

Do you think one person's effort in reducing, reusing and recycling will make a difference in saving the environment? What steps have you taken in the effort to save the earth?

Answer2

no.Instead of switching on the air-conditioner i use the fan.i will also throw the cans that i have finish drinking into the recycling bin for aluminium cans.

It help them to learn about the way they think and how their actions flow from this and help them to choose not to commit sex offences when the urge arise again.

If they want to improve and change into a better person.We should give them a second chance

Q1) What is illegal logging?

A1)Illegal logging destroy animals' habitats and cause environmental damage. it is also the act of transporting, purchasing which is strictly against the law.

Q2) What can you do to stop the Sumatran tiger from extinction?


A2) build a nature reserve for them to stay so that they can reproduce more youngs and don't kill them for their skins or meat.
